Monday Mom Day: The Foodie Mom

I am going to start this new series here. Every monday until mothers day I will be putting a compiled list of mothers day gift ideas all with different types of gift themes. 

I am starting with one of my favorites, the foodie mom. I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my son. Just like my mother, when I make him these treats it feels like I am showing my love to him. My mother preached home made. I never ate packaged baked goods.

The NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette

     Recently with Sephora having their VIB sale, I picked up this palette right here. I have been eyeballing it for months now. This pretty yet pricey palette has had some mixed reviews. Many claiming that it has a low pigment and that other palettes preform better. 

    If you are like me, then you suck at smokey eyes. Im working on it... but for now this palette has been my best friend for weeks. The highlights are very low pigmented but the rest of the palette has a decent amount of color pay off. The nice thing about this palette is that it is forgiving. I can build my eye look up without the one swipe and then oh hell.

Sephora Formula X Press Pods

Have you been curious about trying the Sephora Formula X polish? Or maybe you have but you gotta catch em all. Recently I noticed Sephora was posting social pictures of these little baby polishes on social media. Reactions were mixed. Some said this was wasteful, others thought it was great.  Here are the colors that come in this set.

Now this set is a set of 24 for $39. Sephora also has the mini set called The Twenty-Two and it is priced at $55. So here is a break down of the price per oz.

My Crazy Mint Obsession

Spring is in the air!! Yet it just snowed here... I have been chomping at the bit to start embracing spring and letting loose with bright pastel colors. One of my favorite for the season is mint. If you haven't guessed yet. So I ventured onto Polyvore and create a cute little montage? I don't really know what to call these things.. But any who, I combed through the pages and pages of mint beauties and compiled a little snip of things that are now on my shopping list.
Quick side note, the Lush lip scrub is amazing. I have yet to try the mint julips flavor but I do have the Santa christmas flavor and buttered popcorn. Both I use every other day. They are phenomenal.

HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING PALETTE

Holy baby jesus. I am so excited that this is coming back. I personally never had the chance to grab this and I was extremely bummed. Makeup by Tiffany D, really brought light to this product before the wave. Personally I love her and love what she suggests.

I love when sephora posts swatches of their palettes. Since I only have one skin tone to swatch these beauties, I really can't give it all the justice it deserves.

My Sephora VIB Haul

 With Ulta having a sale the exact time Sephora was holding their sale was just insane for my wallet. I had to really plan out what to buy at each store. I also picked up the new Kat Von D palettes which I should be receiving friday! Recently I picked up a sample of the Kat Von D Lock it foundation, shown here. The sample still has a good weeks worth of foundation to go. Since doing my review I have worn this foundation everyday! So I had to get a full size. I also am a huge fan of heyclaire.com who has raved about the Narsissist palette. There has been a lot of mixed reviews but I will be posting my opinion on how this works. With the new hype around Bite beauty I was really excited to see this new set which will be great for spring and summer. Also if you didn't notice in the middle, I grabbed the new Urban Decay Ink for Eyes eyeliner. I really struggle with straight lines so hopefully this will help me out.

Kat Von D Chrysalis & Monarch Eyeshadow Palettes Finally HERE!!!

While I see the Chrysalis palette really fits in with spring, I think the Monarch will really shine during fall. Either way I am breaking my no buy to pick these up. CIATÉ Flower Manicure

This... was horrible.
I recently purchased the flower manicure kit from Sephora, I thought that this would be the cutest spring/ summer manicure. Today I sat down to finally do the manicure and give my cute results to my blog. To my disappointment this manicure would not cooperate. First starting the the base polish which after 5 coats was still streaky and not opaque. I then gave up and tried a Julep color instead. Then after drying the polish I followed the instructions of putting a generous amount of clear polish on my nail then patting the flowers on. Holy mess. The flowers would not lay down to the curve of the nail. In the end I ended up with over saturated dried flowers and a muddy mess of polish.
